Frequently Asked Questions

  • What time are your services?

Fifteen minutes before our service we have a time of fellowship where where we can slow down, connect, and get to know one another better over coffee, doughnuts, and other pastries. Service began at 10:45am

How long is a typical service?

    Service is one hour 10:45am-11:45am

What should I expect during a service?

During worship, we praise the Lord through hymns and contemporary songs, share prayer requests—either out loud or privately (no one is obligated to share)—offer our tithes and offerings, and receive inspiring messages from God'sWord.

As the service concludes, we are empowered to go out and live the Word of God in our daily lives.

Do you offer online or livestreamed services?

Yes, our livestream service begins at 10:45 AM and is available on both our Facebook and YouTube pages:

Join us online each Sunday as we worship together!

    What should I wear?

Come as you are! At Yellow Springs UMC, you’ll see everything from jeans and t-shirts to dress clothes. We’re more interested in welcoming you than what you’re wearing.

Do I need to bring anything?

Nope! Just bring yourself. If you have a Bible, feel free to bring it—but it’s not required. We provide everything you need to participate in worship.

Do I have to be a member to attend?

Not at all! Everyone is welcome at Yellow Springs UMC—whether you’ve been attending for years or it’s your very first visit. We’re glad to have you.

  • At Yellow Springs UMC, we believe children are a vital and cherished part of our church family. We're actively shaping our children's ministry to be more integrated into the life and atmosphere of our worship community—creating a space where kids feel welcome, valued, and engaged.

We offer a flexible and family-centered approach during our Sunday services:

    • Children are always welcome to remain in the sanctuary with their parents for the full service.

    • A designated play area for young children is available, where parents can accompany their little ones while still being able to hear and participate in the service.

    • An activity space within the sanctuary is being developed to give children the option to stay close to their parents while engaging in quiet, hands-on, church-based activities. A member of our Children's Ministry Team will be present each Sunday to help supervise and support the children in this area.

    • For children who remain seated with their parents throughout the service, we provide Kids Packs filled with quiet activities that help keep their hands busy and their hearts connected to worship.

Our goal is to create an environment where children feel included in the rhythm of worship, and where families are supported in growing together in faith.

  • At Yellow Springs UMC, we are a community of faith rooted in the love and grace of Jesus Christ. As part of the United Methodist Church, we believe in:

    • God’s love for all people — no exceptions.

    • Jesus Christ as our Savior, whose life, death, and resurrection bring hope and new life.

    • The Holy Spirit, who empowers us to grow in faith and live out God’s love.

    • The Bible as the inspired Word of God, guiding us in faith and daily living.

    • Grace — freely given by God, not earned — and the call to extend that grace to others.

    • Faith in action — serving others, seeking justice, and sharing God’s love in the world.

We believe that following Jesus is a lifelong journey, and we walk it together—with questions, doubts, joys, and all. Everyone is welcome here, no matter where you are on your spiritual path.
